Your New Flow
Interested in taking your meditation practice to the next level? Do you suffer from chronic pain, arthritis, or other aliment? As you immerse yourself into the float pod or pool, the epsom salts allow you to be completely weightless. The water is the perfect tempature, allowing you to forget it’s even there. Float therapy is an experience unlike anything you have tried before.
1000 pounds of Epsom Salts (magnesium sulfate) helps relieve inflammation and pain, as well as being a mood-stabilizer and regulating electrolytes in your body, ensuring proper functioning of the muscles, nerves, and enzymes.
Buoyant Suspension in a shallow, warm solution allows your body to relax and be held above the water. It allows your body to lengthen while you literally float with no effort or pressure. Even falling asleep is safe in a float tank.
Complete Silence in a secure, private space is the most important aspect of floating. Our brains need a break to balance the negative effects of multitasking, overwork, anxiety, sleeplessness, pain, stress and the noise of our hyper-stimulated lives.

Pretty much anyone can enjoy a float. The use of float tanks is not limited to any particular demographic. The young and the old, men and women and people of all lifestyles enjoy flotation tanks. People who have a need for managing stress, increasing creativity or reducing pain find float tanks therapeutic.
The primary reasons people float are to reduce chronic anxiety, heighten cognitive function and relieve pain. Some people float to escape the bustle of life and relax for a few hours, while others use floating as a therapy for anxiety and stress . Floating is also used to increase creativity, attention and retention, as well as explore thoughts and emotions in a semi-conscious or meditative state. Others float to help manage and reduce pain as a supplement or replacement for pain medication and physical therapy.
This simple answer? About 1,000 pounds of medical grade Epsom salt. This solution of Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate) is used to create a weightless suspension of your body, but also leaves your skin feeling smooth and rejuvenated. For thousands of years, millions have flocked to the Dead Sea for the relief from pain and muscle aches the salty water provides. Floating provides a modern-day way to experience the same relief.
The interior of a float tank is exceptionally sanitary. Each tank has up to 1,000 pounds of Epsom salt dissolved in the water, which raises the salinity to levels that are inhospitable to bacteria, including microbes and other pathogens.
The Solution is sterilized between each session through a process of commercial-grade circulation, filtration and purification using a combination of UV (Ultraviolet Light) and Ozone. No harsh chemicals (Chlorine, Bromine etc) are used in the solution at our facilities.
While it is possible to drown in any pool of liquid, float tanks are much safer than most other bodies of water because they contain a high concentration of salt. It is impossible to sink in a float tank, and you must exert a conscious effort to turn onto your side or attempt floating face-down. Many people safely sleep while they are floating.
Yes, pregnant women may use float tanks. Floating while pregnant allows you to escape the added weight of pregnancy by taking the strain off the body and spine (and feet!). It promotes excellent sleep, a lovely sense of well being, and can help with all the aches and pains normally associated with pregnancy. For many mothers, the environment creates a heightened sensitivity and connection with the baby, and some have reported a profound experience of “mirroring” from floating in a quiet, warm and secure environment while their baby does the same.
Because circumstances are unique with each pregnancy, use of float tanks should be discussed with a health care professional.
Although float tanks are physically safe for children, some may experience episodes of fear or claustrophobia. In some reports, children mention that the darkness is calm and peaceful as opposed to the scary darkness of their bedrooms at night. Children may use float tanks with parent’s written consent and may require parent’s supervision as well.
Float tanks are not recommended for some people. Anyone with one or more of the following conditions should not use float tanks: uncontrolled epilepsy, drug or alcohol intoxication, infectious disease, open wounds and serious psychological conditions.
Float tank sessions are private affairs, so most people wear nothing at all. You may find that even the fabric of a swimsuit rubbing or pressing again st your body is a distraction. Non-swim related garments are not allowed (i.e. jeans, down parkas or footie pajamas)
We recommend you bring any grooming products you may want post-float (hairbrush, product, cosmetics etc). We will provide all other amenities you need: towels, shower products, earplugs, makeup wipes etc.
Floating feels like nothing, which is (unsurprisingly) difficult to describe. Initially the water is pleasantly warm, but quickly becomes less noticeable as the air and water are set to match the temperature of your skin. This equilibrium, combined with the weightlessness from the buoyant solution, results in very little external stimuli and allows your mind and body room to relax, recover and recharge. The specific experience is unique to each individual and each float. However, most people report experiencing strong feelings of peace and relaxation. Some floaters report feeling highly creative or find themselves thinking about profound subjects.
Read through our FAQ’s before your first float session – if the answer to your question isn’t there, just give us a call.
Check out our Cancellation Policy – We require 24 hours notice to cancel/reschedule to avoid a cancellation fee. Click here to view our cancellation policy.
Arrive on time – Allow yourself plenty of time to get here – it’s much harder to relax into the tank if you’ve been rushing. If you are late, your float session may need to be cut short to ensure the following appointment can start on time. We recommend arriving 20 – 30 minutes early for your first session to complete your form & orientation and 5 minutes early for all subsequent appointments.
Allow plenty of time for your float session – We recommend allowing 1.5 hours for a 1 hour float session as we want you to take the time to relax before heading back out into the hustle and bustle.
Make sure you are hydrated & don’t skip meals – The high salt content can make you dehydrated.
Turn off your mobile phone when you arrive – This is your time to escape the world & the ‘busyness’ of life. We ask that you turn your mobile off & DO NOT TAKE CALLS WHILE YOU ARE IN THE TREATMENT ROOMS OR RECEPTION as there may be other clients having a massage or float who are disturbed by this. If you need to make a call, please go outside. If you need to have your phone available for emergency calls (children/work) then we suggest you leave your phone at reception and we will look after it for you.
Ensure any small cuts or scratches are covered with a clean waterproof dressing – This is for hygiene purposes as well as the fact the salty environment of the tank will cause any open cuts/scratches to STING!!
Remove contact lenses and Jewlery – But don’t forget to take them with you when you go!
Ask lots of questions – Let us know if you are nervous or unsure of anything. Think you might be claustrophobic or tend to feel the cold, we can make the rooms warmer – not the tank.
Call us to check if you should reschedule – If you are in the early/late stages of pregnancy, receiving chemotherapy or ongoing medical treatment that we should be aware of or think you may be coming down with a cold/flu/illness.
Consume drugs or alcohol prior to your appointment – Being under the influence of drugs or alcohol is STRICTLY prohibited. We reserve the right to refuse treatment to anyone we suspect may be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Use the tanks if you are menstruating – So we can maintain our high level of hygiene.
Shave or wax within the 12 hours prior to your session – The salty environment of the tank means that any waxed/shaved areas will STING!!!
Drink caffeine or other stimulant drinks before your session – These will make it difficult for you to relax into the tank environment. – a coffee in the morning should be OK if you’re not floating until later in the day,.
Have a large heavy meal in the 90 mins before you float – Not only might you feel unwell, but your digestive system will be making lots of noises and this can be disruptive in your float.
Float if you have large open cuts, or have had gastro in the last 21 days – This is for hygiene reasons as well as your own comfort.
Float straight after having hair colored or chemically straightened or after using artificial tanning products – We ask you to wait at least 10 – 21 days after having your hair colored, the wait time depends on the color, (please ensure no color rinses from your hair when washing at home) and 10 days after using artificial tanning products.
Take too long in the shower after your float – Please consider that we may have another client waiting & we do need to allow sufficient time for filtering & cleaning. If you feel you need more than 10 minutes to shower & do hair/make-up after your session – please just advise us when you arrive & we can shorten your float time accordingly.
Take calls while you are in the treatment rooms or reception – this is your time to escape all of that, so leave it off as long as you can. It is also VERY distracting for other clients who are here to relax.
